Economy won't suffer from higher market rates, ECB officials say

Juergen Stark and Lorenzo Bini Smaghi, members of the European Central Bank Executive Board, said recent increases in market interest rates won't hinder the economy. Stark called an increase in the overnight Eonia rate "very small", while Bini Smaghi said "it's not going to affect ultimately the interest rates banks charge customers".
