Md. district works to increase PE options for students with disabilities

A recent report by the Government Accountability Office showed that physical education for students with disabilities in seven other states, including Maryland, is often hindered by a lack of funding and specialized training for teachers. School officials in Maryland's Frederick County say they are using federal stimulus money for new equipment, provide additional teacher training and partner with the Special Olympics to expand physical-education and extracurricular sports options for students with disabilities.
