Portugal's Madeira increasingly attracts younger travelers

Madeira, a subtropical island off Portugal, is sometimes referred to as the Pearl of the Atlantic. It has long attracted older Britons but is now being discovered by younger travelers. Beyond its moderate temperatures, the volcanic island features an up-and-coming nightlife, new boutique hotels and updated infrastructure. It also offers hundreds of miles of irrigation channels that lend themselves to hiking.
