Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, D-Nev., is close to having the 60 votes needed to clear a procedural hurdle on legislation to overhaul financial regulation. Therefore, Democrats have little margin for error as they strive for Senate approval of the sweeping bill. However, analysts expect the votes ultimately will be there to send the legislation to President Barack Obama for his signature.
