IOC director: Industry should push olives as a healthful alternative

Jean-Louis Barjol, executive director of the International Olive Council, says the time is right for the olive and olive oil industry to promote their products as a healthful dietary alternative. Eating monounsaturated fatty acids, such as those found in olives, helps raise good cholesterol while lowering the bad form, he writes.
