Corporate insiders sell stock as bankruptcy nears, data show

Stock trading by corporate insiders often shifts from buying to selling in months leading up to a company's bankruptcy filing, according to a Wall Street Journal review of thousands of trades. The pattern raises concern about whether insiders see unfavorable information about a company before outsiders do and use the nonpublic information to protect themselves, the newspaper says.
