Further slide in U.S. import prices adds to deflation pressures

U.S. import prices extended their decline to a fourth month in June, easing 0.2% and adding to concerns about below-target inflation. "This report suggests that we are importing deflationary pressures from overseas," said Steven Ricchiuto, chief economist at Mizuho Securities USA.
