NPCIL's ESBWR project likely to secure clearance from India

India's central government is expected to approve Nuclear Power Corp. of India's proposal to build a nuclear plant with a generating capacity of 9,564 megawatts in India's Srikakulam district. NPCIL plans to use GE-Hitachi Nuclear Energy's Economic Simplified Boiling Water Reactor design for the project, said G.V. Ramesh, NPCIL's project director.
