Tour operators monitor Egypt as tensions diminish

The decrease in violent incidents in Egypt since the ouster of President Mohamed Morsi last week has raised hopes among U.S. tour operators that tourism activity in the country would begin to rebound. "I firmly believe now that the demonstrations have subsided, and the country is poised to have an influx of tourists who have been waiting for two years for the first opportunity to visit Egypt," said Elie Sidawi, chairman of Sunny Land Tours.
