Verizon Wireless reported a banner second quarter, adding 1.4 million contract subscribers as well as drawing a record number of new tablet customers, Lowell McAdam, CEO of parent company Verizon Communications, told CNBC on Thursday. DISH "has got some great spectrum," but "buying the whole company doesn't make sense for us," he added.
