ICANN approves .mobi for wireless users

The Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers yesterday approved the new .mobi suffix, designed for mobile phones, at a Luxemburg meeting. New Web sites using the suffix, expected to be functional by 2006, will be tailored for mobile phones' smaller screens and limited memory and bandwidth.
