Longer treatment yields lower hepatitis C relapse rates

New research indicates patients with hepatitis C genotypes 2 and 3 treated for at least six months had lower relapse rates and higher cure rates than patients treated for four months. Patients with highly treatable forms of the disease also benefited from longer treatment, the study found.
