Molecular imaging provides in-depth view of tumors

Molecular imaging technology is showing promise as a technique for earlier disease diagnosis, more accurate prediction of the spread of disease and better understanding of the effects of drugs on the body. The technique, which enables a deeper view into tissue and chemical activity within the body than conventional imaging such as MRI, was developed by VisEn Medical, which is collaborating with pharmaceutical firms such as Merck and Eli Lilly. VisEn is applying for FDA permission to test the method on humans.
