It's not enough for bosses to have high expectations of their workers -- they need to learn to communicate them effectively, writes Sangeeth Varghese. The best way to motivate people is to explicitly set goals that seem impossible, then to keep driving home your determination that they be achieved, Varghese argues. "Ordinary expectations can be self-defeating," he writes. "Be clear that you are expecting something truly out of the ordinary."
