Early antivirals help transplant patients

Organ transplant patients who received antiviral treatments within two days of showing symptoms of H1N1 flu were less likely to be admitted to the hospital and the intensive care unit, a Canadian study found. The researchers recommend that transplant patients showing signs of the pandemic flu should immediately be started on antiviral drugs even before the infection is confirmed.
