Florida district increases AP enrollment and exam pass rate

Educators in Florida's Hillsborough County say they have proven that achievement on Advanced Placement exams can increase even as more students enroll in the college-level classes. Officials in Florida have received criticism for placing average students in the advanced classes, and Hillsborough has increased AP involvement faster than nearly any other U.S. district. Hillsborough students passed 10,970 tests -- up from 9,674 the year before -- and the district's pass rate rose from 36% to 38%.
