Hospital room service combines flexibility, nutrition

Palmyra Medical Center in Albany, Ga., implemented a room service program to give patients flexibility and choice in meals while still following dietitian and physician orders regarding diet. A computer tracks nutrition to ensure patients get appropriate meals, but sometimes dietitians step in to juggle the menu a bit for a request that doesn't fully match diet restrictions.
