Short talk can help stop prolonged bottle-feeding

A Canadian study in Pediatrics showed that a five-minute talk with parents during their baby's 9-month checkup can help avoid prolonged bottle use, which can result in tooth decay and nutritional deficiencies. Around 9 months of age is a good time for parents to start weening their babies off of bottles because "the older they get, the harder it gets to modify their behavior," the lead author said.
