Fear made Bibby Gignilliat take on a partner for her cooking team-building business even though her gut told her not to. "I was afraid to do it solo -- I figured I lacked the necessary business knowledge," she says. Gignilliat and her partner quickly started butting heads, primarily over duties. Gignilliat found a way to maintain her business and get rid of the partner, and now advocates using contract workers and consultants to provide necessary skills. "You don't have to give up a chunk of your business," she said.
