Survey: Patients prefer hospitals to medical centers

A survey of more than 1,000 U.S. adults found 52% believe a hospital would provide better quality of care than a medical center, while 32% had the opposite view. Steve Rivkin of Rivkin & Associates, one of the companies conducting the survey, said the results go against current thinking that the term hospital is "old-fashioned," which has led many facilities to switch to medical center.
