ASTA praises Ohio agents for defeat of proposed tax hike

ASTA commended its members in Ohio for their role in defeating a provision in the state's fiscal 2014-2015 budget that would have imposed a 5% sales tax on travel agents' services. "Thanks to the ASTA Mid-America Chapter and all the Ohio agents who participated in the grassroots campaign, agencies in Ohio have collectively avoided $4 million a year in new taxes," ASTA President and CEO Zane Kerby said.
