The "disconnect" between cloud-system buyers and sellers

A report by Forrester and Equinix cites a disconnect between clients and services providers on priorities for data-center investments. Businesses are focused on gaining availability, dependability and performance, while providers are touting agility and flexibility, the report said. "This means service providers are overestimating the level of understanding among IT decision makers regarding the support and features of cloud, and may be underselling the core capability of cloud," Ellyne Phneah writes, citing the perspective of Forrester's Michael Barnes.
