New certification mark indicates EHRs meet MU standards

A new certification mark for EHRs and other health IT platforms was recently released by the Office of the National Coordinator for Health IT. The mark indicates that the products are certified to offer security, interoperability and functionality and that they have satisfied the 2014 Edition Standards and Certification Criteria, ONC officials said. "The use of the ONC Certified HIT mark will help to assure [health care providers] that the EHR they have purchased will support them in meeting the Meaningful Use requirements," said National HIT Coordinator Dr. Farzad Mostashari.
