Thousands of aircraft registrations are incomplete, says DOT IG

According to a recent audit conducted by the Department of Transportation inspector general, the Federal Aviation Administration's Civil Aviation Registry does not contain necessary information about noncitizen aircraft owners. "We found incomplete registrations for about 5,600 aircraft, or 54 percent, owned under trusts for non-U.S. citizens," the audit stated.
