Canada confirms cow born since feed ban died of BSE

Canadian authorities confirmed a cow born since a ban was imposed on certain cattle feed died of BSE and invited U.S. counterparts to take part in an investigation. The infected cow was pregnant at the time and the investigation is to determine whether the cow had any calves, but authorities said the cow did not enter the food chain.
