Texas plans second offshore wind farm

In the second such lease in less than a year, Texas is developing an offshore wind farm. The agreement, which calls for the project to be developed off the coast of the Padre Island National Seashore, gives Superior Renewable Energy of Houston the rights to 39,900 acres of submerged land in the Gulf of Mexico, where a wind farm will generate up to 500 megawatts of power.
