Emerging markets push metal prices higher

Metal prices are climbing again, even as industries in the U.S. that depend on the commodities struggle amid the economic downturn. Emerging markets such as China and India are pushing up the prices of steel, copper, aluminum and nickel, observers say. In addition, producers have curtailed production, which has also supported higher prices.
