Family medical histories link autism to autoimmune diseases

Research has discovered a possible link between autism and autoimmune diseases. Danish doctors found that children with autism were more likely to have a family history of diseases such as rheumatoid arthritis, in which antibodies that normally fight infection attack the body instead.
