The ownership of wolf-dog hybrids by celebrities such as "Twilight" actress Kristen Stewart has raised questions as to whether the breed is safe as a pet. One expert does not endorse keeping wolf-dog hybrids as pets, saying the breed often cannot adopt to living happily or safely with humans. According to this article, a JAVMA study indicated that wolf-dog hybrids were linked to 14 fatalities from 1979 to 1998.
