Kirby: Commercial real estate pricing is only 25% from its peak

Commercial real estate is in better health than conventional industry metrics show, says Mike Kirby, chairman of Green Street Advisors. Indexes published by Moody's and the Massachusetts of Technology show that property prices are down 40%, "but we show they're now down 25% from their peak." The industry has problems, he allows, but there also are bright spots such as foreign investment in the U.S. property markets and a visible recovery in the rental markets.
