Officials fear an outbreak of dengue fever in Florida

A survey showed at least 5% of residents of Key West, Fla., were infected by or exposed to the dengue virus, researchers reported Tuesday at the International Conference on Emerging Infectious Diseases. Health officials are concerned that the virus could spread. A CDC official said it is important "to determine if these cases are an isolated occurrence or if dengue has once again become endemic in the continental United States."
