Survey: CRBSIs are still a concern in facilities

A survey commissioned by the Association for Professionals in Infection Control and Epidemiology found that 48% of respondents consider catheter-related bloodstream infections a concern at their workplace despite prevention efforts. Causes of the infections include inadequate maintenance, handling and preparation of lines or ports, as well as improper hand hygiene and equipment malfunction, according to the survey.
