Lonza looks to antimicrobial market with Arch Chemicals purchase

Swiss company Lonza is set to buy antimicrobial-product manufacturer Arch Chemicals for $1.4 billion in cash. With the acquisition, Lonza hopes to get a 15% share in the $10 billion-per-year antimicrobial market and increase its presence in emerging markets such as China, India, Brazil and South Africa.
