Study: Molasses reduces fat, leptin in tested mice

Adding 4% molasses extract to a high-fat diet for 12 weeks helped reduce weight, body fat and leptin levels in mice, a study found. Adding molasses extract may aid in weight loss and curb obesity, experts said. The findings are to be presented at the annual meeting of the Society for the Study of Ingestive Behavior.
