U.S. businesses tell Congress, president to agree

A large coalition of U.S. companies has sent a letter to President Barack Obama and every member of Congress, urging them to come to an agreement on the debt ceiling so there is no default. The letter does not mention tax revenue -- a key issue holding up an agreement -- because the executives signing the letter do not agree on the subject themselves. One area of agreement is that under no circumstances should the U.S. default on its obligations.
