SANE training helps nurses care for sexual assault victims

Nurses can be trained and certified through the Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner Program to help children and adults. The program teaches nurses how to collect evidence and care for victims. Hospitals may have SANE-trained nurses in units such as maternity, behavioral health and the emergency department.
