NYC-area communities want ban on new hotel development

The ongoing hotel boom around New York City has prompted criticism in some communities, leading several City Council members to try to ban more hotel building. Leaders in the Manhattan neighborhoods of SoHo, NoHo and Hudson Square want to stop the building of any more hotels, as do council members from Brooklyn and Queens.
