Duncan: Achievement gap is not closing fast enough:

Reading and math achievement on the 2007 National Assessment of Educational Progress, known as "the nation's report card," shows that the achievement gap among black and white students is slowly closing nationwide. Secretary of Education Arne Duncan said educators must raise achievement for all. "This report shows that this can be done, but the progress has been too slow," he said.
