Free program replaces summer classes cut in California district

More than 11,000 children are learning through free classes and field trips offered by the Summer Enrichment program in Santa Ana, Calif. Funded by a $2.3 million federal grant, the program replaces regular summer classes lost to state budget cuts and is open to all students from prekindergarten through eighth grade.
