How the rise of SaaS will promote usability

The success of software-as-a-service has created a "permanent usability crisis" for traditional business software, writes Dan Woods, chief technology officer of Evolved Technologist. Since enterprise software is basically imposed on employees, usability hasn't been a top concern, but as the big software vendors seek to remain competitive, they will have to show that the broader functionality they provide outweighs the usability and lower operational cost of SaaS, Woods contends.
