Proposed Louisiana levee system raises concern among Miss. officials

A new levee system planned in Louisiana could increase flooding in parts of Mississippi, according to officials in a Mississippi county. However, the Army Corps of Engineers has assured the Hancock County board of supervisors that no current construction will negatively affect Mississippi. County officials say the proposed system, which includes two large floodgates, would force water trapped in the system into Mississippi.
