Appeals court rules against FCC's indecency policies

In a case that could have far-reaching implications for the television and radio industries, the 2nd U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals in New York has upended the FCC's rules on indecent speech, saying that they are "unconstitutionally vague, creating a chilling effect that goes far beyond the fleeting expletives at issue here." The three-judge panel, however, did not preclude the FCC from attempting to come up with rules on indecency.
