CMS wants to increase outpatient payments in 2011

The CMS has proposed that fees covered by the 2011 Hospital Outpatient Prospective Payment System be increased by 2.15%. The agency also wants to include six new quality measures that must be reported by hospital outpatient departments. CMS will receive comments on the proposal until Aug. 31 and a final rule is expected to be out on Nov. 1.
