Class I's, Amtrak join meeting to discuss Ill. rail integration plan

Canadian National, Norfolk Southern, Union Pacific and Amtrak officials participated in a meeting sponsored by Sen. Dick Durbin, D-Ill., to review a rail integration plan in Springfield, Ill. The meeting also addressed the projected surge in train traffic through the area, where CN, NS and UP's rail operations are expected to increase due to the steady economic improvement in the Midwest and Illinois.
