University uses cartoons in pandemic training

The fight to avoid global pandemics of zoonotic diseases including avian influenza and foot-and-mouth disease depends on timely lab results. As part of a national effort to certify labs that test for the diseases, Washington State University has created a three-day training program that uses animated videos with characters that deliver the complex material in engaging ways.
