Workers at S.C. cement plant extinguish chemical fire

Employees at the Holcim cement plant Wednesday were able to extinguish a fire that started when lightning struck and ignited fumes from fuel that was being emptied from a rail car. Workers at the Holly Hill, S.C., facility used a water cannon to put out the fire before anyone was injured. "Their safety team did everything they should have to contain it," the Orangeburg County Emergency Services director said.
