FedEx and UPS could fall behind retailers' delivery plans

Amazon's strategy of building fulfillment centers closer to customers and increasing use of company delivery trucks might become a problem for traditional shippers FedEx and UPS, industry executives say. The challenge likely will be magnified as brick-and-mortar chains including Wal-Mart Stores, Best Buy and Gap fill more online orders from stores close to customers.
