Fla. district pilots universal free-meal program

Fifty schools in a Florida district will participate in a pilot program in the 2013-14 academic year in which all students will be eligible for free meals -- regardless of their family's income. The majority of schools chosen to participate in the Community Eligibility Option have between 80% and 90% of students eligible for free and reduced-price meals. "I feel like all students everywhere should have free breakfast and lunch," said principal Steve Comparato.
