Some Ariz. eateries take summer vacation

A growing number of Phoenix and Scottsdale, Ariz., restaurants are closing for a week or more during July and August, taking advantage of the slowdown as residents leave town or hole up in air-conditioned homes to avoid the summer swelter. "We're shutting down to give ourselves a much-needed break during a time when business is so slow it's scary," said Crudo chef-owner Cullen Campbell.
