University students set for biofuel experiment on "Vomit Comet"

A NASA jet will take a team of University of California students on a "Vomit Comet" flight to test how biofuels burn in weightless conditions. The plane takes steep dives and climbs, creating weightless conditions followed by "hypergravity" conditions that can reach 2Gs. The team is preparing for its Microgravity University Program ride. "We might take a few runs on roller coasters or drop towers at theme parks to feel the effect of free-fall," said engineering undergraduate Sam Avery.
